卢煜明

现为香港中文大学医学院副院长(研究),李嘉诚健康科学研究所所长及化学病理学系系主任。卢教授于英国剑桥大学取得文学士学位,再于牛津大学取得医学博士及哲学博士学位。

学术称号

为表彰其重要研究贡献,卢教授先后获授英国皇家学会院士、美国国家科学院外籍院士,以及世界科学院院士。于2014年,卢教授荣获费萨尔国王(King Faisal)国际医学奖。

科研成果

在1997年,卢教授成为世界上第一位科学家发现母体血浆内有胎儿的脱氧核糖核酸(DNA),从而开辟了一个新研究领域并致力于有关方面的研究。卢教授所带领的研究团队已率先研发出无创性唐氏综合症产前诊断服务。此外,卢教授的研究团队透过先进的DNA测序技术,直接从母亲的血液样本中分析出胎儿的基因组、甲基化组及转录组。这些发展有深远的生物学及应用意义。
